My first taste..

I started my "new job" today. (For those who don't know I am watching my friend's almost 3 month old little boy at her house while she works from home).

Today was interesting. It gave me an idea of what is in store for me when we have another baby.

The strange part? I felt weird holding an infant. It's almost like I have forgotten what it felt like. Hailie is only 18 months old. They grow up WAY TOO FAST!

Most of the day was good. There were a few points where I was ready to pull my hair out and was asking myself what I was getting myself into. The baby was crying and Hailie was getting into everything as she typically does. It took me a good 15 minutes to get him calmed down while chasing her around. I felt awful when he was crying.

It was hard and tiring. I came home completely exhausted.

I have even more respect for you moms with more than one child now - especially those that are close in age!

I go back Wednesday. It'll be easier since Hailie will be home with her Daddy and she was definitely the toughest part of the day.

Ooh girl - you've got your hands full. I work from home, and always had my mom at the house to help me out when the boys were little. But when we moved away, my youngest was about 1 1/2 and it was just us.

Me and him and work, while the other 2 were at school.

I found a daycare to help out for a bit while I got acclimated, then I pulled him out. He should be with me - that's why I'm a WAHM!

Gotta say - it's never boring. Especially when on a conference call marathon and he's telling me to push him on the swing. Or pulling his diaper off and peeing on the carpet.

But I wouldn't change a thing. ;)

Let us know how it goes on Wednesday!!

My 17 month old keeps me very busy. I do a little part time work from home and if I don't get it done during naptime, I can just forget it.

It'll get easier as the baby gets older and establishes a routine!

I know exactly what you feel like! Whenever I hold an infant I just feel awkward like I don't know what to do! It's been so long... only eighteen months, but TOO long!

Oh with the Balmex, Anna when she finds it, she opens the lid with her mouth, then puts her index finger in it and then starts to "paint" her cheeks and forehead with it! If I don't stop her in time then she's painted all over with it! Anna has started a thing where if she finds anything edible and she's hungry, she goes "Mmmmm!" lol

I'm going to add you to my linky list. :)

Boy do I feel you on the infant thing! When my youngest was 6 months old I kept my cousins two children (3 years and 6months) for a few months and boy was that the dumbest thing I'd ever done. ;)

The good thing about it (yes there was a good thing)...it definitely prepared me for what I have now with a 2 yo and a newborn.

Love your blog! Thanks for stopping by mine.

I have a 3 and 6 year old and we would love to adopt another. I am sure it would be an adjustment at first, but my kids are at the age where they would be big helpers. I hope you have a great day Wed!
